Phasing is not too hard to do while flanging adds an LFO to the concept. Chorus requires about the same cpu power as flanging. You can however get decent approximations with just delays which is what apollo uses. Gusdelay is also a good application to use. There is no way to control the dry/effect mix however without some hardware modifications on a regular GUS or an external mixer or hardware mod on the Max. Using 8 bit for sampling however will not even come close to a pro unit (the price however is clearly not comparable either). > However, I think Francois Dion, the guy who made some of > Howling Dog patches and has some FAQs written about the UltraSound, may > know more. His address would be in the FAQ, or ask Eric Bell. My email is now francois@hyperreal.com. The ere.umontreal.ca address is not operational anymore. In the WWW page for the GUS there is also an error with my email (it's not dionf@hyperreal.com...). My URL is correct however at http://www.hyperreal.com/~francois Ciao, - -- Francois Dion (IdMEDIA) [> Email: francois@hyperreal.com <] ' [> C.P. 278, St-Lambert, QC, Canada, J4P 2N8 <] [> Raving Up North Ezine: run-request@hyperreal.com, subject: help <] ------------------------------ End of The GUS Musician's Digest V15 #23 **************************************** To post to tomorrow's digest: To (un)subscribe or get help: To contact a human (last resort): FTP Sites Archive Directories --------- ------------------- Main N.American Site: ftp.orst.edu pub/packages/gravis wuarchive.wustl.edu systems/ibmpc/ultrasound Main Asian Site: nctuccca.edu.tw PC/ultrasound Main European Site: src.doc.ic.ac.uk packages/ultrasound Main Australian Site: ftp.mpx.com.au /ultrasound/general /ultrasound/submit South African Site: ftp.sun.ac.za /pub/packages/ultrasound Submissions: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound/submit Newly Validated Files: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound Mirrors: garbo.uwasa.fi mirror/ultrasound ftp.st.nepean.uws.edu.au pc/ultrasound ftp.luth.se pub/msdos/ultrasound Gopher Sites Menu directory ------------ -------------- Main Site: src.doc.ic.ac.uk packages/ultrasound WWW Pages --------- Main Site: http://www.xmission.com/~grue/gus.html Main European Site: http://src.doc.ic.ac.uk/packages/ultrasound/ Main Australian Site: http://ftp.mpx.com.au/archive/ultrasound/general/ http://ftp.mpx.com.au/archive/ultrasound/submit/ http://ftp.mpx.com.au/gravis.html Mirrors: http://www.st.nepean.uws.edu.au/pub/pc/ultrasound/ GUS Digest Archives: http://gpu.srv.ualberta.ca/~itam/digest.html http://www.student.adelaide.edu.au/~godfathr/gus/gus.html MailServer For Archive Access: Email to Hints: - Get the FAQ from the FTP sites or the request server. - Mail to for info about other GUS related mailing lists (general use, programmers, etc.).
